Anita Newman, M.D., FACS

Dr. Anita Newman attended Stanford University and graduated with an A.B. in Philosophy.  She completed her medical school education at Dartmouth.  She was a general surgery resident at Northwestern University Hospital.  She began her Otolaryngology training at Northwestern and completed it at UCLA School of Medicine.  Upon completion of her residence, she joined the faculty in the HEAD and Neck Surgery Division at UCLA.  While on the faculty she received a Clinical Investigator Development Award (CIDA) from NIH and studied nerve regeneration.  She has published over two dozen papers and lectured widely.  In addition to her CIDA she received multiple awards including the Shirley Brown research award, and UCLA teaching award, Northwestern Resident Award, was a grant reviewer for the National Institute of Science and involved with multiple grant-funded research projects.

She continued on the UCLA faculty for fourteen years before leaving to join the faculty at USC.

In 2000 Dr. Newman went into private practice at Cedars Sinai Hospital.  Her areas of interest include Pediatric ENT, balance and vestibular disorders, sinusitis and head and neck cancer.  She is currently director of Pediatric ENT at Cedars Sinai, a member of the Cedars Sinai Sinus Center of Excellence and the Cedars Sinai Head and Neck Surgery Center of Excellence.
